This laptop runs on Windows XP Professional and has an excellent host of photo, audio, and video playback options, along with Memory Stick and SD card slots. The excellent battery life is another big plus, with a potential endurance of nearly seven hours.

This VAIO also offers a nice selection of wireless connectivity options, with built-in Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and EDGE technology. Although somewhat slow, Cingular’s 130 kbps EDGE cellular broadband service could certainly prove useful when you can’t locate a hotspot. For serious cellular broadband users, however, its worth buying some external hardware to connect to the much faster EV-DO network.
